EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR)

 General information
We organize for our customers tours in Madagascar and upon request also in surrounding countries like Mauritius, Kenya, Southafrica etc.  We need some basic data from our customers to do our job, please find further info beneath this.

 Responsability

Data collection:
On our website: When people visit our website, the server of our hoster is collecting Log Data. This is the IP adress and the operating system of your device, the date and time, the browser type and the browser request including the the origin oft he request (Referrer). Log data incl. IP-adresses will be stored during a period of 6 months. The data will be used by the hoster internally for forensic research in case of a hacker attack or for other security relevant analysis. Thanks to this, they guarantee the security of your data on their systems and make sure, that in case of suspicion, action can be taken for the protection of your data.  The lawfulness  of this treatment is according tot o article 6 of the GDPR.

We (Le Voyageur Ltd) don’t perform on our website any data analysis, and we also don’t use web analysis tools (such as for example Google Analytics). We don’t capture no other data on our website, we use neither Cookies nor Tracking. On our contact form, we use Google Captcha, in order to avoid that we receive machine generated requests. Please find the privacy policy here https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en

If you fill in the contact form on our website or send us an E-Mail or other electronic message, we’ll store your data only for the treatment of your request or possible additional questions linked to your request, and only be used in the context of the request. Legal basis for the treatment of your request is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR. We use for the contact form encryption and the data will be stored for treatment, based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR).  We won’t pass this data on to anyone. Only if you decide to book or ask us to provisionally reserve a space for you on a tour, we’ll pass this data on to serviceproviders, hotels, airlines or similar, please also see below. For sending our E-mails, we use the SSL / TLS encryption.

If you book a tour with us: we normally need only your Names and contact data, your sex and date of birth, when booking flights with us we possibly also need a copy of your passport, we’ll need your postal adress for the invoice, and we need to know if you have a special diet, such as for example vegetarian, vegan, coeliac disease, or if you don’t eat fish or seafood etc). We’ll need this infos also for your travel partner, and we need the rooming list (i.e. the desired room types, single, double, Twin or Triple room).

 Social Plugin Facebook

Our Social-Plugin for Facebook  works through the 2-click process;  which means that recording your surfing behavior through the plugin only starts when you activate the plugin by clicking on it. If you are visiting our website and are at the same time logged in into your facebook account, Facebook will register the visit after activating the plugin (first click) and can assign this visit to your user account. If you visit our Facebook page and connect with us after logging in, you agree to share your user data with us.

Use of Data

We may use personal data in case of malfunction or security incidents, this may include, but not limited to, also be of a medical nature.


If we meet you at a travel fair or roadshow and you provide us with your contact details, you are giving us your consent to send you our rates or information by e-mail. You can revoke this at any time.

All data received from you is stored in our office, as well as some data on an external encrypted data storage (cloud), the contents of which, apart from us, cannot be read by anyone because of the encryption.

If necessary for the performance of the contractual services, we also pass on your personal data to other service providers (subcontractors), including hotels, airlines, transport companies or other service providers. The e-mail traffic used for this is SSL or TLS encrypted.

Protection of your personal data
We treat your data with the greatest possible care and delete them as soon as they are no longer required, taking into account legal storage obligations. Our staff is regularly urged to observe data protection. All of our IT systems are password-protected, with user rights, and are regularly updated, and we all use a virus scanner that is also up to date. We make regular backups, and the important files are all additionally stored as copies on an encrypted cloud server in the EU.

 Right to information / revocation
You have the right at any time to request information on what data is collected and why, and where it is stored. If the data collected about you is incorrect, you can request a correction at any time. You can contact the data protection officer mentioned above at any time, as well as for the deletion of your data. (Articles 15, 16 and 17 GDPR)

 Changes to the data protection declaration
We reserve the right to change this data protection declaration if the legal situation changes. We therefore ask you to check our website regularly to see any changes.
